Dating

1942 (Monday, March 30)

Dimensions:

approx. 91 × 60 cm

A large and visually powerful propaganda poster featuring Anton Mussert in a resolute portrait. The striking face against the dark background gives the poster a direct and impressive presence. The clear typography and the striking red text field at the bottom ensure excellent readability and made the poster very suitable for public use.

The poster announces a public speech by Mussert at the Concertgebouw in Haarlem and is a prime example of how the NSB placed its leader at the center of public propaganda during the occupation. Similar posters were used in several cities and locally adapted to include the location, date, and time.

Condition: The poster has been folded and shows horizontal and diagonal fold lines. The front is well-preserved, with bright colors and a robust appearance. The back shows old reinforcements along the folds, functionally applied and barely visible from the front. Some minor signs of age and use, consistent with its age. Authentic copy.
