Offered is a complete series of four original propaganda posters from World War II, known as the Mr. Barbed Wire series. These posters were distributed in the Netherlands in 1944 and are among the most striking examples of satirical war propaganda from that period. The "Mr. Barbed Wire" series consists of four large cartoons, executed in a caricatural style with the characteristic "barbed wire" lettering. The posters openly mock Dutch people hoping for liberation or Allied support. The text reinforces this cynical image and was intended to sow doubt and undermine confidence in the Allies – a powerful example of occupation propaganda.

Each poster has 6 photographs made of it.

Condition:

The posters are in good condition, especially considering their size and fragility. All copies have been folded and show minor wear along the folds and edges. The paper remains sturdy, and the colors are still vibrant. This is a rare, well-preserved set that rarely appears on the market as a quartet.
