Centrally on the poster are two men vigorously shaking hands. On the left is a man in a neat, plain-clothes suit, on the right a man in simple working-class clothes with rolled-up sleeves. The image symbolizes the abolition of class distinctions and the rejection of class struggle: labor and the bourgeoisie are presented as equal and united within the National Socialist ideology.
The red text "Socialism Breaks Ground!" runs diagonally through the image, referring to the interpretation of socialism, promoted by the NSB (Dutch National Socialist Movement), as a national community rather than a class divide. At the bottom, the slogan "National Socialism!" in yellow letters on black emphasizes this ideological message of unity, discipline, and cooperation between social strata. The entire piece is executed in a realistic, powerfully modeled style with a bright blue background, characteristic of propaganda material from the occupation years.
Condition:
The paper shows several age-related wrinkles, particularly visible in the blue area and along the edges. The colors are well preserved and remain bright and contrasting. There are no major tears or missing sections; this is an original and presentable copy with normal signs of wear consistent with its age.
