Home · Family · Fedreland – National Women's Organization, Norway ca. 1941–44
Publisher: Nasjonal Samlings / Kvinneorganisasjon (NSK)
Designer: unknown (some sources mention Harald Damsleth)
Dimensions: approx. 70x48.5
Beautiful original Norwegian propaganda poster from the Second World War, issued by the Nasjonal Samlings Kvinneorganisasjon (NSK), the women's section of the National Socialist Party, led by Vidkun Quisling.
The slogan Heim · Ætt · Fedreland ("Home · Family · Fatherland") emphasizes the role of women as mothers, guardians of the family, and pillars of the nation. The image shows a mother with children in the foreground, while in the background, members of the movement parade in uniform, framed by typical Norwegian nature motifs. This ideological line is quite comparable to the Dutch NSVO (National Socialist Women's Organization), which promoted the same values under the slogan: ' The hearth fire sacred, the hearth fire safe.”
Condition:
The front view is in good condition: the colors are vibrant and the paper is sturdy but also fragile due to tears. One corner is missing, and there are a few tears along the top and bottom edges. These flaws are limited to the edges and do not affect the image itself.
