Description:

The poster features an official portrait of Anton Mussert, leader of the National Socialist Movement (NSB), in uniform and presented frontally. His posture is stately and composed, with folded hands, intended to project authority and leadership. The NSB emblem is visible on the sleeve.

Above the portrait, in large white letters, is the text: "THE LEADER OF THE DUTCH PEOPLE." At the bottom of the poster is a motivating text:

“I appeal to the well-meaning part of the nation to stop standing idly by.”

A quote from the 1943 New Year's speech.

The bold red, white, and black color scheme and the understated typography give the poster a stern and official feel. The poster is a typical example of Dutch political propaganda from the occupation period and fits perfectly within the controlled and censored visual language of 1943.

Condition:

A small corner in the top right corner has been replaced (an old restoration). The back of the poster has been carefully prepared in five places, presumably with paper fiber reinforcement. These interventions are not visible from the front. The image and text remain clearly legible. This is an authentic copy.
